Objective: to learn about our local agricultural systems and food production.
In this assignment, you need to visit a local Farmer's market and answer the questions.. At farmer's markets, many different local agricultural producers sell their products directly to the consumer. (Please note that a farmers market is NOT a farm stand or Sigonas or the Milk Pail or similar establishments and is also not the same thing as the produce sold at swap meets). You may or may not be aware that many Certified California Farmers markets except EBT, WIC and other types of federal and state food assistance payments. Many even offer Market Match, which will match an additional $1 additional for each $1 spent up to $10 to increase access to healthy foods for low income people and provide customers for small and medium sized family farms. You do not have to buy anything.
