This is an intro-level session for those new to Canvas! Quizzes in Canvas can be low-stakes or high-stakes; multiple-choice, essay-based, video-based, you name it. A quiz can even be a survey, with no right or wrong answers.
During week 1, you might want to use a quiz with the survey settings to gather information about how your students are approaching your virtual class, and what kinds of support they would value most.
With input from the audience, we'll also build a formative quiz (such as a reading check) and a summative quiz (such as an online midterm).
