Going Mobile

When designing your course, we strongly encourage you to also download the Canvas mobile apps onto your phone. Since quite a few students will be accessing your Canvas site through mobile devices such as their phones or tablets, it's important to know what your students will be seeing when they do so.

Canvas Teacher App

This one is obviously for you! We particularly recommend it if you imagine you will be needing to edit or access your own Canvas site(s) through a mobile device.

Canvas Teacher App for iOS/App Store

Although it does not have the full functionality of browser-based Canvas, it is quite close and offers many features. Canvas has comprehensive guides on how to use the Canvas Teacher App for both Android and iOS platforms.

Canvas Student App

We also advise you to download the Canvas Student App, which is like a "Student View" for your course—but mobile! It's good to know what menus and objects your students have access to, and the Canvas Student App will help with this.

They are relatively "small" apps, so having both the teacher and student apps on your phone/tablet should not be a major inconvenience!
